Get some Ikigai in your life
Here's a neat graphic of what the Japanese call "Ikigai" - which loosely translates to 'your reason for being' (or Purpose, ahem). 10 simple things to remember. At Purpose towers we struggle with 3 (taking it slow) and when eating tapas, number 4 (don't fill your stomach - use the 80% rule). Noted,Japan, noted.

Timber cities are the future, or possibly bonkers
Ok, so timber cities. what do we think? here's an interesting one from the Guardian - Whilst it would make sense to cut carbon emissions by reducing concrete and steel urban construction over the next century, it doesn't come without risks and tradeoffs

It could avoid more than 100 billion tons of emissions of the greenhouse gas CO2 until 2100
Which oisabout 10% of the remaining carbon budget for the 2Β°C climate target
However cutting down natural forests for tree planations might be a 'terrible idea'
More than half the world's population currently lives in cities, and by 2100 this number will increase significantly. This means more homes will be built with steel and concrete, most of which have a serious carbon footprint,
Wood can play a bigger role in construction but to double the worldβs tree plantations at the expense of priceless nature is just bonkers, when modest reductions in meat and dairy farming would free up the land needed
ICYMI (In Case You Missed It)
Loads of good data and insight here in the Charity Digital Skills report 2022. Not surprisingly over half of those responding had started offering new online services with more than 20% have expanded their delivery areas since moving online.

We all need some wholesome. So here's todays edition

Web 3.0 dictionary 101 for non-techies(i.e me and you)
Look smart when you get asked about the metaverse/crypto/NFTs in your next board meeting. We're on a mission to skill you up. WAGMI! ( if you don't know what that means, You're in the right place!)

Cold Wallet- This refers to offline ways of storing cryptocurrencies, or their related information or passwords - from pieces of paper with your private key details to a hardware device. The important bit (he cold in Cold Wallet) refers to the device NOT being connected to the Internet which means they are generally safer - as opposed to a hot wallet, which is connected all the time, meaning it's handier to use, but offers less security
Note: The above AI-generated image of "a person holding a cold crypto wallet standing outside a building" is fair giving us the creeps. Low-key Omen vibes. brrrrr.
